The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the first group of 2025 intending pilgrims will depart from Ilorin International Airport for Saudi Arabia on May 12.
Executive Secretary Abdulsalam Abdulkadir revealed this during an enlightenment session held Sunday in Ilorin. He stated that the second batch would leave on May 14, the third on May 16, and the final group on May 17.
Abdulkadir added that accommodation and catering arrangements have been secured for the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Preparations are progressing, with vaccines set to be distributed on April 28, uniforms on April 30, and travel bags on May 1.
He further disclosed that pilgrims who paid more than ₦8.4 million in Hajj fees will be refunded the difference upon their return.
“All 2,174 intending pilgrims have had their visas successfully processed,” he confirmed.
Justice Abdul-Lateef Kamaldeen, Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, also addressed the pilgrims, advising them to observe the Hajj rites with sincerity, patience, and fear of Allah.
The second round of sensitization was well-attended by key figures, including former Executive Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Tunde-Jimoh.
